Types of Aikyashree Scholarship

There are mainly three types of Scholarships provided under this scheme.

Pre- Matric Scholarship: – This scholarship is given to support the primary education of students studying between class 1 and class 10. The amount given in scholarship will range from 1100 Rs to 11000. Based on the subject studied by the student.

Post- Matric Scholarship: – Students from class 11 to Ph.D. are eligible for this scholarship program. Graduates, postgraduates, M.Phill, B.ed students can apply under this program. Scholarships are up to a limit of 16500 rupees. As per the scholarship rules, this amount may be reduced or increased by the institution.

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship: – This scholarship is given to support the students who are pursuing technical courses in the fields of Engineering, Medical and other fields. This scholarship has a upper limit of 27500 rupees

Eligibility Criteria of Aikyashree Scholarship

Below are the main eligibility criteria of Aikyashree Scholarship.

  1. Minority Community: Applicants must belong to a minority community.
  2. West Bengal Residency: Applicants must be permanent residents of West Bengal.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
Pre- Matric and Post- Matric Scholarships The applicant must be a resident of West Bengal and be enrolled in an authorized school or institution, or a university recognized by the state or central government. He or she must possess not less than 50% marks or equivalent grade in the previous final examination.

The family income should not exceed Rs.2 lakh per annum. Students studying outside West Bengal will not be eligible for pre-matric or post-matric scholarships.

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship A student must reside in West Bengal, must be enrolled in a technical / professional course, and must have scored at least 50% in his/her last Higher Secondary/Graduation examination.

The family’s income should not exceed Rs.2.5 lakh per year. Students who are residents of West Bengal, but studying in institutions outside West Bengal, may also be considered.
